Mikespot is a blog about life, culture and spirituality by Mike, a guy who is a husband, a father, a recent grandfather, and one of Jesus followers. He
enjoys God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) whether in his vast creation (the pic was taken at Boggs Mountain, Ca with one of my sons) or in secret a session of intimate communication, because God is the strength of his life. The blog provides an outlet to write about Him.
After graduating from the USMC he was a relief worker and a missionary church planter in SE Asia, has been a pastor in a local church sine 1987, serves as a chaplain for our local police department, is a founding member of Northern California Network for Church Planting, a member of the Acts 29 Network. He’s also passionate about Jesus gospel and social justice.
Some of his hobbies include hiking, hunting, fishing, reading, and off roading in the Brick (a 2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser). He also enjoys good convo over Peet’s coffee; and occasionally he enjoys a puff or two on a pipe with the guys.
* Some of the justice issues I’m passionate about are AIDS orphans and street children, child prostitution, human trafficking, modern slavery and women’s issues, abortion, and any form of exploitation of the poor. Contact me if you have similar concerns.
Mike, This is the first time I’ve read your blog and it’s made me realize how much I miss you and your preaching. No need to say “I told you so” I know the worst mistake I ever made was leaving California. Wish I had listened to you, sorry I didn’t. We’ll be in CA just before Thanksgiving and I’d really like to see you. Let me know. Charlie
